Kelaya Wedding Photography
THE BRIEF
Wedding photographer Kobi Janairo wanted a brand refresh to market his services better. The wedding photography brand is called Kelaya, named after his daughter. His old logo was a geometric K with lots of shapes and details including metallic gold colors in gradient.
Kobi’s photography style is very laid back and unposed, always on the look out for intimate magical moments as the wedding preparations and ceremony happen. His wedding package includes a printed photo album, a rare offering nowadays considering everything is now digital.
He also offers wedding advice and recommendations on how the setup, timeline and venue can fit more to the couples’ lifestyle.
THE SOLUTION
Personal branding is very prominent with wedding photographers all over the world. And because of that we recommended that his name be included in the brand name for this brand refresh. The brand is now called Kelaya by Kobi Janairo.
Most rebranding efforts do not go too far from the previous version of the logo. That is to make sure that the current audience of the brand will still see some familiarity with the new version of the logo. This new logo is still a bit geometric but with cleaner lines. The letterform was made to look very balanced, and it was paired with a simple wordmark as not to overpower the K icon.
Inside the icon is an image of a photo album that opens up. It gives a hint on the nature of the business while avoiding the stereotypical symbols of a wedding photography brand, like cameras, wedding rings, and the infinity sign. The opening up motion shows the authentic, unposed, and honest style of taking wedding photos that Kelaya is known for.
The colors chosen were deep teal and gold. The blue shade reflects trust and professionalism, while gold shows sophistication.
Overall, the new brand centers on Kobi, the face and name of this brand refresh. It’s taking onhis personal brand of quiet luxury. It’s laid back but driven, and you’re definitely getting more than what your money is worth.
